What is organic food?

Organic food is grown, processed and harvested according to the national standards which included limits to the amount and residue of hormones antibiotics, artificial fertilizer and pesticides. Basically food that isn’t sprayed or come in contact with bug pesticides or given any additional hormones for growth. Animal also eat organically grown food and are raised without any hormones such as growth and antibiotics.

Is organic food better?

Yes and No. Although organic food is grown without any growth chemicals and grown fully naturally without any additional hormones no facts prove that organic is any better healthier than other traditionally grown crops and plants. Food can still be safe and environmentally friendly without having to be organic. Even the USDA says they make no claim that organic food is safer than conventional food.

So to answer your question, is organic really better? Not so much. So why do people think it is? Because the animals haven’t been given growth hormones, the plants haven’t been sprayed or given any pesticides or artificial fertilizer If we know 100% that the organic food hasn’t been laced in anyway with any chemical you can say it safe however after reading more into this there just isn’t a way we know for sure that the plants and crops haven’t been contaminated by bugs or pesticide sprays. You’d have to come up with your own conclusion.

An interesting statement I read (and which I agree) someone said which made sense about how pure, fresh and disease-free organic raised food really is. Think about it…How is it protected from diseases and toxins by being organic? Can they boldly say there crops came in no contact with any bugs or air traveling disease or toxins ever?

We don’t know truly where and how these foods were made, raised or grown unless you’ve grown your own garden, you just don’t know. Now I’m just reporting from both sides of the fence and am no way against organic food. In this article I’m posting facts and statements I’ve found that raised questions for you to make your own educated guess.

Eating organic food won’t necessarily make you lose weight. However eating organic can be a healthier choice for eating by helping you maintain a good weight and giving your body pesticide-free, hormone-free natural food. Would I personally consider it in helping me lose weight. No. Weight loss can be achieved by eating traditional foods. It’s about limiting yourself and eating healthy selected items. Use common sense when selecting a healthy meal to eat.

What are some organic foods to eat?

Fresh organic such eggs, meat, veggies, fruits and dairy all fall within this type of organic food then there are processed type foods which are widely popular such as canned foods and frozen vegetables.

What are the disadvantages of it?

Price would seem to be the only disadvantage factor.  Nothing to drastic about it but there really isn’t anything bad about eating organic.
